Craven Arms Station has Shuttle buses that link with the trains here on weekends and provides main line connections to Hereford and Cardiff. The 'Gateway to the Marches', Craven Arms is also home to the Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre who offer discount for Heart of Wales Line passengers.

Named after the listed 200 year old Craven Arms Hotel, other places to stay includes bed and breakfast conveniently located just outside the station. Less than 2 miles from the station is Stokesay Castle, a fortified manor house with a 13th century hall and a 16th century gatehouse (visible from the right of the train when approaching from the south).
