Thousands of visitors arrive in style at Llandrindod
Wells Station when the town celebrates its Victorian heyday during
the August Victorian
Festival. But this town has much to offer the whole family all year
round, whether visiting for the day or staying longer.
The largest and most famous of the mid Wales spa towns, it is the youngest
town on the line with perfectly preserved Victorian architecture built
around 1860 to 1930. Many hotels border the pleasant Temple
Gardens in the centre of the town.
Within walking distance along a tree-lined avenue is the lake,
beautiful in all seasons. At the lakeside is a craftshop and tearoom,
with a play area for children nearby. The Victorian Festival ends here
with a huge fireworks display. More information about tourism in Powys
is available from the Powys
Tourism Web site.
