Llanwrda Station is situated at the end of a lane, on the opposite side of the A40 to the main part of the village.

The main part of the village lies on the junction of the A482 leading to the Dolaucothi Goldmines, 7 miles away. Established by the Romans, the mines offer visitors the chance to take a trip underground and experience the life of a goldminer.
