Located on the A483 between Llanwrtyd Wells and Cynghordy, Sugar Loaf Station is the most remote of all of the stations on the Heart of Wales Line. It provides an excellent departure point for those wishing to walk to the Sugar Loaf vantage point.

A public phone is located at the top of the steps that lead upwards from the station platform.

Southbound trains leave the station to pass through the Sugar Loaf tunnel on route to cross over the Cynghordy Viaduct. More information about tourism in Powys is available from the Powys Tourism Web site.
